Transport 2007 Herning
29/3-1/4 2007
VBG shows up revolutionary coupling and the completely new generation of couplingsTransport 2007 in Herning, Denmark, had about 29,000 visitors, most of which were from the trade, but with a significant increase in the number of Norwegians and Swedes. VBG had plenty of visitors and on the whole the trade-fair had a lot to offer. |

The completely dominating attraction was VBG’s innovation project, the MFC coupling, which is a fully automatic coupling system, drawbeam and eye, with integrated automatic systems for air, power and hydraulics, and a completely new concept for the connection and disconnection of centre-axle trailers by the driver from the cab, which both saves a lot of time and reduces the strain on the driver in a physically demanding environment.
Our new generation of couplings version 3.0, drawbars and OnSpot, also attracted a good deal of attention.
Many haulage contractors and drivers were also interested in the accessories available for our couplings, especially the power actuator and sensors in the cab to show whether a coupling is locked or unlocked. There were a lot of questions about legislation and the overall length of trucks (25.25). Many visitors were interested in the “horror cabinet”, an area with products that had been damaged or overloaded, or subjected to poor maintenance. The idea behind this was to focus on service and maintenance, and to market training in our new courses.
It is always a pleasure for us to take part in an exhibition and to have the opportunity to meet our dealers, but the primary target group for us is the haulage contractors, drivers and other truck owners that we cannot meet on a day to day basis. They are the experts, with their finger on the pulse in all kinds of weather and severe conditions, who can give us the valuable input that enables us to develop our products.
We have a lot of things to follow-up after the trade-fair, and this is very promising.
